I learned that a long time ago they had to cook over coals because they did not have electricty. Girls and boys had to go to sepret schools beacause they were taught different things. My favorite thing was to cook the flapjacks because we got to flip the flapjacks when they were cooking. Then we ate yummy food so we could taste it. Carlos

I learned that people in the past had to make their own stuff like clothes, shoes, dishes, toys, and yarn. They also grow their own rice.I like when we were in the school coloring the rooster.my favorite was when we made marbles out of clay.I also love the yummy Indian Flapjacks. The best part was when we went to the yellow house that maybe lived about two hundred years ago.I had a wonderful time at Old Salem. victoria

Our class went on a field trip to Old Salem. We watched a movie about people back in the old days. Then we got in groups. Alyssa, Sanaa, Mia, jordan, and Luz learned about makeing sheep hair into yarn. When we were done we went to the kichen and made flapjacks. When we made them it was hard, but they were good. yumyum! We went to another room to make marbles out of clay. when we were done we walked down and ate lunch. My frvorite part was making flapjacks and thats was fun. Sanaa
